Icinga Testing environment for Vagrant
======================================

This environment helps you to bring up a local test environment for Icinga testing.

It is not intended for demo, but for setting up and developing our reference systems.

Install required ruby tools:

    bundle install
    
And checkout the Puppet modules: (via r10k)

## Recommended plugin

You might need the Vagrant plugin `vagrant-vbguest` to install / update the Virtualbox tools on the VMs.

This will help you install tools before first provisioning, and updating them after a Kernel update.

    vagrant plugin install vagrant-vbguest

## Bring up machines

You can bring up the Vagrant boxes like this:

    vagrant up master1
    vagrant up master2
    vagrant up satellite1
    
    # or all
    vagrant up
    
Apply changes in the Puppet or hiera data:

    vagrant provision
    vagrant provision <host>

## Details

The environment is configured via hiera, please check the following files:

* [common.yaml](hieradata/common.yaml)
* [master1 yaml](hieradata/node/master1.vagrant.icinga.org.yaml)
* [master2 yaml](hieradata/node/master2.vagrant.icinga.org.yaml)
* [satellite1 yaml](hieradata/node/satellite1.vagrant.icinga.org.yaml)

We use a bunch of public available Puppet modules, and the
